I am getting lazier every month to write this blog, maybe because the summer is finally close and I spend my time more outside! This is going to be a short summary of the last 2 months.
As Marta was in Brazil for 2 weeks I used that time to try the bicycle trip to Piriapolis again - it worked. Had nice weather, felt good, afterwards had a relaxing time at the lake house, went to see our American friends in Piriapolis, made burgers, had a great time and even came back to Montevideo with the bike:)a
Delicious paella, my friends in Piriapolis and the beach view from their house, party in Punta Diablo!/Gardā paelja, mani draugi Piriapolis un burgeru kalni, skats uz pludmali no viņu mājas, ballīte Punta Diablo/

The Next weekend me and our "godfather" went t get Marta from the airport and drove directly to the lake house. We made seafood paella, took a walk on the beach, once again tried to swim in the not so worm lake and took the kayak for a spin.
Work wise I have more classes now at the institute, one of the volunteers terminated her project early so I teach English now to 2 nice girls. In the day-care it’s all about enjoying spring and preparing gifts for the kids, because....Christmas is coming. So we went to the farm again, kid absolutely love that place and this weekend we went to a park Leqoc just outside Montevideo, which also is a animal reservation. The kids came with their families and it was so nice to see them enjoying this time together. We went to see the animals, had lunch together, fooled around, some parents played guitar and we sang along.
Rice plantation, rheas running around, my new favorite fruits the japanese mispels/rīsu plantācijas, savvaļas milzu putni nandu, mans tagadējais mīļākais auglis mispels
The weekend before Marta left for Brazil we went to a rise plantation in Treinta y Tres. I didn’t know rise was planted in Uruguay - it turns out, it’s a big and important plantation that grows quality rice and exports it all over the world (even to Asia). We stayed there with a nice family who used to be students at our language institute, now he is the engineer there and she gives English classes to the local kids. Wonderful people, they showed us the fields, we got a ride with one of the combines and took a tour in the rice mill. At the end of it they got us a truck driver to take us home!
My swim team and the competition/ mana peldēšanas komanda un sacensības
Also we are job hunting now, to spent the summer here, because the project is about to end! We got invited to a job interview to Punta Diablo, about 300km east from Monte. Went there and spent an awesome time, nice hostel (Diabo Tranquilo), great staff and would have loved to be a part of them. But they need us to start now and we are free only in December, so we enjoyed the weekend walking on the beach and partying with the guests. On the way home a guy approached us whose car was broke down, and asked us to help him push the car, why not! We pushed it, got it running and he gave us a ride to the next town. Word by word it turned out he is a chef and has 2 restaurants and needs waitresses for the summer and...yes we got a job at his restaurant. Life is full of surprises. So that pressure is kinda off:)
Between all of the travelling, working and job hunting I have been trying to improve my swimming. My swim group invited me to take part in a 8 hour swim competition. 11 teams took part, we were 12 in our team and everyone took 20 min swim turns for 8 h. First I was insecure if I can do it and didn’t want to let my team down..but they were really supportive and I had a great time. Of course I was the slowest in my team but close enough to get the motivation to practise more and get better!
